Looking fresh on the morning of Day 1

The bike ride covered 205 miles over three days, visiting each of the three CHSW hospices in Little Harbour, St Austell, Little Bridge, Barnstaple and Charlton Farm, Bristol. For more than 25 years Children’s Hospice South West has been caring for children with life-threatening conditions by providing children’s hospice and professional family support services. CHSW are dedicated to making the most of short and precious lives through the provision of the best possible hospice care for children and young people with life-limiting conditions. The care offered at each of our three hospices is not just about medical and nursing support for sick children but enriching lives of the children and their whole family.

Chris Legg said: “My friends Steve and Suzy Woodley got me involved last year as they and their son have benefited from the care at Charlton Farm. I was so glad that I put the hard training in, Powerstock and Eggardon Hill proved the perfect preparation for the hills of Cornwall, Devon and Somerset as the climbs to Bodmin Moor, Exmoor and up Cheddar Gorge were particularly challenging.

“Saturday was my toughest day when we rode 70 miles from Barnstaple to Taunton via Exmoor. But I was filled with motivation to get in before 3pm! And England’s win made it all the sweeter. Even though I was exhausted.”
